Hello, hola! My name is Gisel...
I'm behind Jupiter Design House. So happy you're here!
I've been designing since probably 13 years old. Started making edits of The Cullens that I hope are long forgotted, and here we are.
I currently run Neptune Designs and have had the chance to work with lots of amazing authors to create book covers, graphics, book trailers, interiors, you name it. I worked with publishers, book boxes, and more.
We all start somewhere, and I've been part of the book community since 2016. Once upon a time, I was a blogger making cute graphics and GIFs lol. Life happened, and I always knew I wanted to take a chance on book covers.
Started self-taught and took lots of courses for photo manipulation, how to use Adobe programs... but I always ran into the issue of learning but not finding one that was specifically for what I was looking for.
I decided to pursue a degree in Graphic Design, and my life literally changed. It all started making sense, and I started designing with intention. Turns out, there's no perfect equation to make a perfect design, but there are definitely lots of tools and rules that help you get there.
I understood Graphic Design's core is visual communication. Beyond pretty images, beyond gorgeous covers. And my own design game changed.
That's why I wanted to share my knowledge and also highlight artists' voices in this community. I feel we artists deserve so much love and support, to lift each other up and also praise those who achieve their goals and dreams.
This is specifically for bookish designers. So you're not lost finding tutorials on YouTube that don't really teach you how to properly do stuff.
